i just bought this gsx it over heated with them b4 i got it i had the head worked but they had the fan wired to the num. 3 injector. i fixed that and got to lookin close an none of the vacume lines on the throttle body was right just looped back to the ones on the side of it . it rns fine boost good and strong for stock but when starting it u have to turn it over for a few minutes then pat the gass it dose feel like its starving for fuel if u get in to it a lil bit any ideas what to do first work on the vacs. or fuel?

When I first bought my 1g if it was cold it was impossible to start. It was hard to start after sitting a few hours. It ran fine the rest of the time. I replaced my mas and the temp sensor and the problem went away. You may check those things.

It doesnt sound like its the injectors if it runs fine under boost. Does the car crank over fine or does it crank over slowly? As for the lines on the TB, they are just for emissions and are not really needed, but I will read more and confirm just to be sure.

Most people by pass all the vac lines on TB. So that is not your problem they are for emission purposes.

+1 on the mas, thats what happened to my 1g before, is it throwing any CEL? Also check your fuel filter, and like the other guy said check your injectors.

A faulty temp sensor can also cause hard start problems, I had it happen to me replaced it and no more hard start.

^^+1 I had the same problem check all your conections It sounds like its you temp sensor

Does it do this when the engine is warm? Another thing to consider is the fuel pump, it should have a check valve that keeps fuel at the fuel rail. Try to turn the key to the 'on' position without cranking the engine, do that a few times then try to crank it, if it fires right up its probley the fuel pump. Just a simple test to try real fast....
