90 tranny question

I have a 91 talon tsi awd. I am getting a 90 parts talon. I know the tranfer cases are different but are the driveshafts interchangable? because I need a good tranny so I was planning on useing its tranny and transfer case, but what else is different and will need swaped?

Thanks a lot! Since I have the whole car I will just swapp everything...

Transfercase
cables
Shifter
levers

And driveshaft since the car only has 90,000 miles and mine has 180,000+.

yea, everything your taking, hehe. from what i gathered you have to swap everything.

I wouldnt mess with swapping 90 stuff into a 91+ car for several reasons. 1. It is a lot of work. 2. It is well known that 90 transmissions have poor synchros and are generally considered weaker. 3. You are then stuck always having to find oddball 90 parts as replacements. I would sell the 90 transmission and transfer case to someone with a 90 DSM and buy a new 91+ or save money for a quality (TRE) rebuild.
