So the suspension in my 90' talon is just...bad really bad. and so i'm looking at getting new struts/shocks...

and so here is my question:
I don't want anything really fancy like coilovers, I just kinda want new, stock suspension.. maybe a slight upgrade. But I don't have tons of money to spend on it.

So what do I need to replace my current suspension?

what brands would you recommend?

this is kinda what I was looking at, but I'm not sure if its what I need.

And to be honest, I don't even really know what I need. I've never touched suspension stuff before.

An upgrade to the stock suspension and not having very deep pockets. You can go with KYB AGX and pro-kits (I heard they don't make the pro-kits for our 1G anymore)

The one I would reccomend would be kyb adjustable shocks..They go for about 400 new from our vendors..There not coilovers, just adjustable shocks..

Then I would use the classified section to find a set of springs like mentioned the eibach are not made anymore..But you CAN find them floating around from time to time..

Teins you can get in two drops.New for around 200..

May sound stupid, but this is why I'm on the noob forum. :D

I heard from a friend that has been working on his Galant for quite a few years now, that KYB isn't a good brand.. so do you concur?

And what are the advantages of getting adjustable shocks?

I really just need something so I don't lose my teeth every time I hit a bump in the road. (I live in alaska and 20-30% of the roads are gravel, and even the paved ones aren't that great.

And it sounds like I would need shocks and springs separately?

Kyb are actually the makers of the stock shocks..So they must be doing something right..LOL

An adhustable shock only allows you to adjust the ride..Harder/Softer..If you go with aftermarket springs on the stock shocks, your going to blow out the stock shocks much sooner than you would with springs on aftermarket shocks..

Even tho, you can get a new shock at the parts store fo whatever..And if you go springs on stock shocks that fine..But I hope your planning on replacing those shocks..And on a higher milage car..The stock shocks should be replaced anyway..Suspension is key, it does hold your life in its hands.

In alaska tho..Unless your going to be in town..I really wouldnt put too much of a drop on it..I know our potholes are as large ad badgers here, but in alaska a pot hole could be a lake..ROFL

Yes most shocks and springs are sold seperatly..If you had classified section acess you could get them both seperatly for pretty cheap..not the 600 I quoated you new..Even megan springs new are like 160..But there a 2 inch drop I think..

I may have missed something so please let me know if I missed a question.:)

I have heard nothing but good things for Koni yellows on a 1g.
You'll have to use 2g ones in the rear though. No big deal.

I will be using a set of BNIB K-sports because they were included in the sale when I bought my DSM :D

AGXs are stupid stiff. Tein and Megan are junk springs. (and K-sport)

Bud is close though.

Yellows and H&Rs would be awesome. Those went the way of the Pro-Kit, I think. May have to source used.

If you want comfort...refresh the stock struts and use OE springs.

KYB AGX

H & R springs

Unless I was looking at the wrong parts (looked them up on extremepsi)

the fronts are $289.00
and the rears are $189.00
the springs $288.00

$766.00 is way out of my price range.
