90 engine with a 91 head?

I'm just looking for a solid answer before I start this.

I got a engine from a supposley 1992 6 bolt car.

It came with a air cooled oil cooler.
Which I thought was only a 90's.

Anyways, I'm going to swap heads from my 91 onto this what I think is a 1990 engine. Is there any reason I shouldn't go foward???????

I'm also going to swap the oil cooler part from my 91 to the 90 so that the turbo has all the correct lines and etc.

Just making sure that this is possible and correct.

The previous owner said, he couldn't hook up the fast idle controller or something and the car never idled right, I assume this is from trying to put a 90 into a 92. Like I said though I'm swapping heads, with all the correct 1991 stuff.

The head is identical.

A few sensors are different (CAS, IAC), and the TB is different. Everything else is the same.

iv got a 90 motor in my 92 talon and i had a laser that someone had swaped the short block out with a 1.6L, but it still had the 93 2.0L heads on it. i cant see why it wouldnt work.

If you go to VFAQ and click Misc. There is a vin number decoder. look at the vin and compare it to the decoder and you will find out everything about it. I got a 92 Talon FWD Turbo engine in my 1990 AWD eclipse.
