7bolt to 6bolt swap with f4a22 trans

I would like to swap a 6bolt turbo motor from a `91 AWD automatic (w4a33), to a `94 FWD NT automatic (f4a22). The turbo will be deleted.

Just how compatible are the flexplate, torque converter, and spacer?

The f4a22 was used from `90 to `94 with both 6bolt and 7bolt motors. I will have to change the flexplate, but what about the converter? Is the AWD flexplate the same as the NT FWD flexplate?

I'm not 100% sure but if I remember right the flexplate on awds have 4 bolts to the converter and the Non turbos have 3 bolts to the torque converter. On a side note I have a freshly rebuilt f4a22 trans with about 200 miles on it, and also a reman torque converter and a used flexplate and spacer for it if you end up needing one.

Thanks for the reply. If the AWD flexplate won`t work, I`ll have to find one that will. Is your flexplate for a 6bolt?

Hopefully, a flexplate swap is all I`ll need.

You need to swap flexplate/torque converter. Friend of mine did that, and is regretting it because they don't hold power at all, but if it's staying N/T, you'll be fine.

Is the converter from a `91 f4a22 different than a `94 f4a22?
