Where can I contact them about getting one of those intake manifolds made? I went to the website but nothings there. I'm building a 6bolt 9:1 2.3 stroker with sbr stage5 head. I'm having a hard time deciding which manifold to go with anyway, but this sounds like a good idea. Thanks

It kinda looks like a 3.5" or 4" pipe welded onto the runners. If you can TIG weld I think it would be pretty easy to make one of those.

I saw a similar intake manifold on a Supra at a recent Supra dyno day. Car put down 7xx whp on a Mustang dyno. I couldn't believe that a piece of pipe made for a good plenum until I saw the dyno results.

I did the same thing to my sohc 96' dodge neon back in the day. It had a mopar computer for a dohc and I use to rev it to 8100 rpms all day. Sense it had a plastic intake manifold, I cut the runners right in the middle so that they were 6" long instead of 12". Then I made the plenum at home depot using a 4" diameter black pvc pipe. Imagine a 4" plenum...LOL. It use to pull like mad, and the power up top was very noticeable. Kinda off topic, but this subject does not come around too often. I have no doubt this mod or manifold will perform as well or outperform an aftermarket intake manifold.

speedmaster747 where did you get the stainless braided radiator lines? Did you weld -an fittings to the radiator and the thermostat housing? What size is the stainless line? Thanks.

I had that same manifold on my old car 2.4 strocker as well! The idea is very simple yet only Gary and Steve have caught on to it. If you saw the intake manifold shootout years ago the stock manifold killed everyone until about 5500rpm where the plenum was just too small and it started to choke. Thats where magnus, extreme, hogan, forrester and the rest started to pick up. Gary and Steve picked up on that and realized that the stock runners were great and it just needed a bigger plenum and BAM. Now we have this unknown to most beast of a manifold!

Great torque down low and never stops pulling up top. The best of both worlds especially for strokers!!!

:

Its not just the plenum that restricts power up top. A turbo of this size would usually make peak power later than 7k. Jake's stroker make peak power at 8k with the same cams.

OMG If I ever get a 1g, That is exactly how I would want it to look.

That thing is BEAUTIFUL, very clean...and I love the license plate ROFL

those pics are damn clean(the 2nd set of pics) wow almost makes me want a 1g LOL. very nice work!

personally id go with a little smaller turbo... look at the torque curve... takes forever to climb. other than that, car and numbers are plain sick! compared to other big turbo cars its good too, i just enjoy quicker throttle response!

im sure i might be swayed by the a good 3rd to 4th gear pull tho LOL. probably beats the feel of any roller coaster.

Awesome!:thumb:

Some questions:

Do those wheels tuck in inside the fenders?

What are the size of the wheels and tires and what offset are you running?

Last one: Are those stock lights? If not what are they?

Thanks,Fred

not to jack the thread but you said you was using web cams before and the vac at idle was not there i having this problem staying a little under 0 could you pm me and let me know ive checked all lines and everything bought a brand new throttle body and all sensors. and if its just the cams Im yanking those things sorry to high jack nice power that car is making. please lmk

He used to have Web cams and now he has HKS 272's, when the web cams where on the car had very little Vac. You can try using a Vac. reservoir to assit you on braking! Good luck!

What does boost repsone look like on the street(or track opposed to the dyno) with the 72 and .81 backside. 3rd gear ~20psi would suffice. Also, I assume its an open, undivided .81, correct? I might go with something similar to replace the 67.

Thx again

Response is great, even though is a big turbo. But the 2.3 can move it no problem...
