7 bolt to 6 bolt questions

All of you who have done this please comment!@!!!!

I am doing a 6 bolt swap bottom end , My 7 bolt has 120k miles on it and i'm not totally sure if I want to do this swap since the original 7 bolt never walked. But if I do, I need certain parts to accomplish this. I know i need the bottom end and flywheel with crank. But do I need one these http://slowboyracing.com/Engine/front cover/front_cover.html ? for the 6-bolt? what about one of these http://slowboyracing.com/Engine rebuild/6 bolt timing belt cover/6_bolt_timing _belt_cover.html ? Should I get an MLS headgasket or a stock one? I'm going to be breaking in the engine with an small 16g. thanks guys.

Yes you will need those and more. When you do a six bolt swap you have to forget you had a seven bolt. All the parts will be for a six bolt from that on not interchangeable with 7 bolt's.

dont bother making it a 6 bolt if your 7 bolt os fine, their is no need, especially with the 1st gen block

Be ready to spend a few bucks and if you are going to change all the belts and pulleys its going to cost more! also just wait til you blow that motor or it walks or just do some major BURNOUTS! AND POST THE PICS! LATEZ

you will need both those items from slowboy I got my front cover from
http://www.importperformanceparts.net/ I got the Toga Oil Pump. The timing belt cover will have to be modified to fit over the stock 2G motor mount. Go to Magnus Motorsport and you will find a complete list of parts for a complete swap. If you still have questions just pm me and I can get you the info you need. you can check out RRE and yahoo group 1gina2g for any other help. Later.

Thanks for the help, but I have a 1g 7bolt , its a 93.

Well you can still use Magnus for a basic 6 bolt parts list. At least you won't have to worry about modifying wiring and mounts. Sorry for the mix up.
