7 bolt in 91 gsx?!?!? Help!

Hee guys, kinda new to the dsm thing, but know a good bit about turbos and engine mechanics, BUt i have a big question. I Have a 95 TSI Fwd that has been wrecked, and it has a 7 bolt in it that is in very decent shape. I also just ran across a nice 91 GSX that is perfect but the motor. Is it worth the trouble and money to downgrade. Is the AWD tranny gonna be a problem or will i need some stuff. IF so can anyone forward me a link on some directions and maybe a parts list I will need that would be excellent!! Thanks guys any info would help greatly!

Is it a 5 spd or auto tranny? THe trans should be np problem the only issue you may run into is the sensor on the engine and the flywheel or flex will have to be replaced.

The cars are both 5 speeds. Anyone else got some tips?

what i did was swap from a 7 bolt 1g to 6 bolt so from what i can tell you off the bat your going to need the alternator from the gsx that you have and take off the bolts where the driver side motor mount go since your going to use a 6 bolt. you'll need the oil pan as well. ditch the throttle body on the 7 bolt motor and just install the 6 bolt one on there. other than that it really shouldnt be that difficult other than a few small things like electronically which wires go where. the transmission should be good in install you just need a 7 bolt flywheel awd. you know the funny thing is its not beneficial for you to downgrade but its that all you have to work with i dont think its such a huge deal.
