hey guys, well i am putting my baby down for the winter, i really wanna pull the engine and rebuild the block, what do you guys recomend for internals. im looking at 300-350 hp, also, looking at upgrading the turbo.. looking either 20g,16g or 50 trim, any recomendations? i will have supporting mods(fuel, air, etc) any help would be great thanks

Nice to see someone else is building a 7 bolt :thumb: . I say 50 trim all the way :rocks: .

I just had a 7 bolt built. It's getting put in right now and should be done by Friday the 28th. My profile has a partial list of the internals.

I personally went with a V-Trim (Got it for $600, polished with internal gate:D ) but the 50 trim is better.

I still have no fuel mods so low boost for now :( but when it's complete I'll post the results.

Best of luck with your 7-bolt build.

Tom.

For the power range that you are looking for one of the previous posters are correct with saying a stock rebuild would be able to hold that power. However while you have it apart, I would suggest upgraded parts just incase you want to go bigger in the future.

Internals:

Eagle or Manley H-beam Rods
Ross 8:5:1, or Wiseco 8:3:1
ACL bearings
Have your crank checked out by a local machine shop for any imperfections.
Mitsu metal head gasket.

As far as the turbo I would suggest either the 50 trim or the 20g. For the price I would go for the 50 trim, right around the same price as the 20g and you will have a little extra power. :thumb:

Stock internals will work, but better internals are extra insurance and a better peace of mind if you start pushing some serious airflow with the 50trim. I vote 50trim because I have one and I love it! :)

I am doing a 7 bolt build as well, and I and just doing a basic stock bottom end. I am using my 95 pistons and am putting them on a set of 1g big rods which should be here in a few days. My head has been recently redone( 3 angle valve job). I am going to run a EVO III 16g with a set of 680's and safc 2 I am not looking to make 400 more around. I should be able to get right around 300 with this. Just my two cents.

If you go with a 50 trim make sure everything else as far as supporting mods work with the turbo, My friend just got a 50 trim for his 1g and ran it at the track and ran a I'm not sure, then he got a set of cams and took it back to see and ran two seconds slower. Try to match all the supporting mods to the turbo if possible. Good luck!!!

sooo pretty much stay stock with it.i thought about possibile putting a stroker in it cna get the kits pretty cheap through a friend, what involves doing soo though? would i need a diffrent block? or could i just put the 7 bolt stroker crank in there with the matching pistons and rods? .. its a 7 bolt jstgon how u putting the 16 big rods on it.. i thought that could only be done if u had a 6 bolt block? some one shine some light on that for me caus ewha ti wanted to do was use the 95 pistons and 1g big rods of a 90.. any one know where i can get a good 50 trim?
