so i used to build mustangs and i have a tial 60mm wastegate with 10,18,25 psi springs laying around is it too much for my car, will it function properly or will I have issues with it not oppening properly?? I can buy a 38mm but if this will work ill use it to save cash.

edit: im going to be running a tubular manifold with a .50 trim around 25-28 psi max

probably a good idea, main question though was does the size of the gate effect its functionality? would it in theory work as designed or would its large size effect its operation?

A wastegate that large would surely cause a drop in boost on what we consider to be "streetable" turbos. Not to mention I have no clue where you'd fit one in the engine bay- the some of the early 60mm gates I've seen are larger overall than our stock turbos; I'm sure they have gotten smaller as time goes on.
