Any difference between early and late 6 bolt.
Ok well hi there to start off I'm completely lost in my current build. I ordered Clevite bearings my crank is .25 over so I got them like so but there's a huge problem, all my bearings fit but my thrust bearings that go in the center are too big and my crank isn't going in.

So I would like to know how could I know what year block I have and how could i fix this problem?

thank you

Looks to be the wrong part number.....

Clevite Part number should be MS2076P for the 4g63 up to 3/92
Clevite77 Catalog 2003 block 8 and block 10 (turbo) page 466

I can find the MS2043P in the numerical listing of main bearing kits but no listing for it under the apps it is suppose to fit. The number I found is MS-2043P .75mm.. I **think** these are over sized thrust bearing kit.

If I am correct then the thrust walls of the crank would have to be machined wider so the bearing would fit. So it is a "repair" bearing for cranks that have had the thrust area of the crank worn or messed up.

Just checked eBay for your MS-2043P part number, in the listing they had this disclaimer:

NOTE: To be replaced by MS2076P, .25mm and .50mm undersize...
Are you sure you have a 6 bolt. The only differences in engines is the 90 to early 92 engines were 6 bolt. Late 92 and up were 7 bolt engines.

im sure i got a 6 bolt motor my crank is 6 bolt and i dealt with dsm for quit a while now. just never came across this problem.also before i send it to get machined i had all bearing put there also my thrust bearing goes in the middle that's also how i know i have a 6 bolt motor any other suggestions?

The only thing you can do is mic all of the journals on your crank to see exactly where they are at. I've never seen a clevite bearing be off in size.. ever.. but what I have seen are many crank grinders that can't hold size.

yea had that in mind im guessing that i should take the crank to the machine shop and have them order it for me. regardless they are going to do it for free so why not give it a shot.

Hi there everyone well to get started I'm currently building a 6 bolt for my 2g but I have a problem, I sent my crank and block to the machine shop and got the block bored and crank shaved. But the thing is that I bought a set of Clevite 77 main bearings but now the problem is that the thrust bearing that goes in the middle of the block is too wide for the crankshaft so it hits the walls of the crankshaft were the thrust bearing goes can any one help?

This is a unknown year 6 bolt block and was a N/A block converting it to turbo with all its needs. Any help would be appreciated thank you in advance. :thumb:

Dude, from the ad I can see. There is no set year. You may even have 7 bolt bearings for all you know. It says it fit's like every 4g engine almost. I would never ever. Order from ebay for something as important as crank bearings. Is your crank even cut to .25mm?

unless that MS2043P is a code for something, like a 6 bolt bearing.

i had my crank cut and polished and this isn't eBay this is a store that sells on eBay....

yes i did..

Pictures? If I am understanding you correctly, you are saying that the thrust bearing touches the crank, it IS supposed to be preetty close to the thrust faces on the crank. Did you receive the correct bearings?

Solution
if the crank was shaved the machine shop should have numbers on it indicating how much they shaved off because stock bearings will not work anymore and i agree above wrong part number.
