6 Bolt Swap

Hey guys, I'm buying a built 6 bolt engine for my car. The guy also has a 1g ecu with dsmlink v2.5 installed. Would it be possible since I'm swapping over the engine to install a 1g ecu into my 2g? Dsmlink would be very handy and I was thinking if I swapped ecu's There wouldn't be a need for custom wiring for the 1g cas? If anyone's done this or knows anything about it I'd appreciate it!

I"m pretty sure you can't use a 1g ecu in a 2g

There'd be pin swapping and/or rewiring needed, pretty sure the speedo is electronically controlled on a 2g by a sensor on the trans where as a 1g is controlled by a cable. Knock sensors are different and read differently, O2 sensors are different... just get DSMLink for a 2g. It'll be easier.

Ok Yeah I found a website that explained it all. The complex wiring wouldn't be worth it. Thanks for the responses!
