Alright guys i'm finally going ahead and doing a six bolt swap in my 97 Talon. 1g block, 2g head. (Crankwalk can eat me!!)
Anyway I pretty much know what i'm doing but I just wanted any advice you guys could give me. Anything I should look out for of problems that might come up?

Thanks!
:talon:

Yeah I printed the Magnus motorsports 6bolt swap guid and I have two complete engines 1 6bolt and 1 7bolt. So as far as parts go I should have everything I need.

I'm wrapping up my 6 bolt right now. It has a 2g head on a 6 bolt block. Mine is an automatic so it's just a little different. If you want to PM me for my parts list, I'd be glad to share.

definently do a lot of reading and using the search bar. I just did the 6 bolt swap in my 97 eclipse and i really found the info on the boards made it a lot easier. Just remember don't try to rush it only makes things worse in the end. Good luck

Do a lot of reading on the forums. The search button will become your new best friend.

And as for 'problems that might come up' on these cars, haha, it could be anything and everything!

Here's a few threads to get you started:

Bible for a 6 bolt swap? LOL :thumb:
It is pretty long, and Im still adding.

To the OP, if my thread doesnt answer a question you have, PM and Ill do the best I can to help you out.

Don't take any shortcuts! NONE! I just finished mine up. I made it harder for myself by trying to do things in a way I thought would be easier than the tried and true ways... especially in the timing belt area. I learned everything on how to do it right here, just using the search pretty much. Keeping the 2g head definitely kept things simple though. Just had to drill out the holes for the studs to 12mm.
