I just did a parts search in caps and I found the 1g 6 bolt rod for turbo and non turbo have the same part number. This sounds weird to me but can anyone tell me if they are actually the same? Im trying to get my 6 bolt back together and I have 3 of 4 rods and I cant find any turbo cars around here so I just need one quick.

Looking at them side by side in the garage, the only diff. I see is the stamping on them. One is g6 a, and the other is g6 t. Other than that, they LOOK like the same part.

Im pretty sure that they are the same, the difference is the compression ratio from N/T and turboed DSMs. I havn't ever seen anything that would make what gsx93dsm said true but lets just see what others have to say, ok.

Just got a 6 bolt turbo block and when I took two rods out they had different stamps on them. One has G6 M and the other G6 L. I am going to call the local DSM shop and see what he says.

I believe their different. The number might be the same but a n/a rod will not hold up like turbo rod will?
Actually the N/T piston has higher compression, meaning it should hold up as well as the turbo running lower.

They look like they are the same :thumb: I dont think the letter after G6 matters because Ive seen turbo 6 bolt rods with c, j, and h on them. When I bought my block, I pulled out 1 C and 2 H rods and got the J ones extra. Only 3 of the 7 rods I got with the block were acutally good  Thanks alot for the pics Mike :rocks: . If I cant get one by friday I will send you a pm about one of the rods you have.
