I have a good TB off my 6-bolt N/T and wondering if I can use it on my '93 7-bolt turbo car? If so and it's considered an upgrade should I swap it in for running 15 lbs boost?

If the intake manifold has a 60mm opening, then yes I would run it. I am running a 1g N/T TB on my 6 bolt swap in my 2g, and I am running 22 psi daily on it with no leaks.

I have the stock 7-bolt intake manifold on my car now but saved the 6-bolt manifold so I guess that's something I shouldn't sell in case I ever need to swap them?

I have a stock '93 tsi 7-bolt and spare parts from my N/T 6-bolt including TB + intake mani..

Ok so ditching the elbow means I can connect the stock intake hose right to the 6-bolt N/T TB?

Exactly what is the deal with the 6-bolt N/T TB? It has a wider opening than the 7-bolt turbo 1g TB? Will it make any difference running 15 lbs boost?

How about the intake mani? Are the 6 + 7-bolt 1g mani's different too? If so any big advantage to swapping in the 6-bolt mani at that boost level?

By intake hose you mean upper intercooler pipe, correct? Your intake pipe always connects to the turbo inlet. But if you want to use the 1g N/T throttle body, you'll need to have a coupler off of the throttle body to connect to the upper intercooler pipe.

It eliminates a gasket. That's about it. It won't make a difference in running that much boost unless it's leaking somewhere. There are people pushing a lot of boost through both a 1g turbo and N/T.

A 1g intake is a 1g intake. There is no difference whether it's 6 bolt or 7 bolt.
