Hey, just want to make sure I get this right and don't encounter any pitfalls.

1) I have read that one of the studs goes to the oil system and if you don't put some RTV around it you will get an oil leak. Does this apply to a 6 bolt? If so, what stud?

2) What is the torque spec for the studs?

3) Anti-sieze ok to use on one or both sides? Opinions seem to be all over.

4) How do you get the studs in? Double nut? (Never done that before)

It's the bottom middle stud, that goes threw the oil passage, on your 6-bolt motor.

To get the studs installed you will need to use two nuts backed up to each other, then you put a wrench onto each nut, then you squease the wrench handles together as you turn them into the head. You will get the hang of it. And they don't need to be super tight going into the head.

You can use anti-sieze but I would recommend the copper colored paste and not the silver colored paste.

Any idea what the stud size is? Gotta tap a hole. Isn't it M8 x 1.25 ?

Torque spec is 20 ft pounds on the studs (since I have a torque wrench might as well get it right).

Finally are the OEM studs black or silver looking? I just got a set and they are all black. The studs sitting in the head right now are silver/gold colored.

Yep, stud size is as above.

Only question left is what the OEM studs are supposed to look like black or silver/copper looking...

Correct the torque spec for the nuts is 20-22fts lbs, but I thought you were talking about the torque of the studs going into the head itself because you said stud and not nut :)

OEM studs are the black oxide color, not shiny. The OEM nuts are copper.

I do stuff like that :)

I ended up just leaving the shiny studs in there...hope they are good quality! At least I have spares now. :)
 
Taking those studs out is always hit or miss for me, I seem to be about 50/50 with them snapping them off when taking them out
