Ok i am building a 6bolt in my 92 gsx. I already have 20 over wiseco forged pistons and eagle h-beams lined up. im thinking about going with 272 cams, 750cc injectors, 255 walbro fuel pump, arp head studs and main studs, a tri layer cometic head gasket, balance shaft elim kit i have a fmic already, i have a 16g also. im not sure what i should do valvetrain wise. Should i keep stock valves and springs or what? will i need a standalone fuel system comupter?

Please give input. Need a little advise and would like suggestions. thanks

A good start is the upgrade path. Stand alone fuel, i dont know anyone who uses that. Get a logger, or dsmlink to begin tuning with, and a wideband thats a great start.

well as far as the spring/retainers,, which cams are you running.. 272 alone doesn;t cut it... kelfords 272 series has a more aggressive cam rates that a BC 272.. i would say you could get away with stock spring/retainers with pretty much all 272 except for kelford and maybe some of the fp cams.. once you get to 280 you pretty much have to but i would recomend it if you have the money

Well if you are already upgrading the cams you will need a tougher spring and retainer kit... so you might as well go +1mm oversized valves and while youre at it might as well post and polish the head... the polish dosnt last very long but atleast the porting does...

i was going to port and polish it bud i just forgot to put that in there. i watched a few videos on youtube with a few eclipses running 280's and they sounded wicked so im kind of on the fence. and i heard about dsmlink and thats what ill probably go with im just trying to look ahead and get advise and ideas

Dont go with 280s, you will not like it. The 272's will be the best bet unless youre spinning 9k all day, they will make much more usable street power and behave better.

As far as the S&R kit, i ran some nasty 272 regrinds in my 2g with a stock 6 bolt head spinning to 8500, using stock springs and retainers...BUT...since youre going to be in there, i can hook you up with a manley S&R kit for wicked cheap, almost would be senseless to not and just get it over with, that way you have nothing to bother your mind after the fact. PM me if youre interested or have any other questions bud.

well its going to be my daily driver but i want to blow some doors off if i have to. i think what im going to do is just do the rods and pistons and stud the head with a tri-layer then up the boost to 16psi or so im going to delete the balance shafts and switch to a 2g maf and get a apexi neo to translate it and i will have it tuned and see what happens. i might get a 255 walbro and rc 750cc's and stop there. if i do anything else i will probably wind up doing a whole build which i don't have the time or money for.
