Hey im building a 4g63 6bolt into a 2.2L long rod stroker. I have a few questions.
Are there 6mm longer rods for a 6 bolt?
I heard somewhere i need to use 7 bolt pistons, is this true?
How would the 7 bolt piston fit a 6 bolt rod?

The answers to these questions will decide what I am buying for my build so please don't respond if you are not 100% about your answer. I dont want to be wasting money:sneaky:

Thanks for the help!

I just had to mod a set of 156mm 6 bolt rods so I could hang the 2g/7bolt pistons. Not a simple job.

I just checked the Manley catalog, They do have the swap rod in 156mm

The only long rod manley has is for the 7 bolt.

Seems like a very time consuming/ expensive job. Is it worth the extra 6mm for all that work, should i just stay with the standard 150mm rods and 6 bolt pistons?

manley 156mm 6 bolt rods p/n 14426-4. I have their import catalog that gives a bit more detail on sizing.

These rods do have the 22mm pin diameter so I would be able to use the 7 bolt pistons. Which goes back to my other question.... with the 94mm crank and 156mm rods the pistons will be raised 9mm's at the top of the stroke. Is this too much? Brian and Jeremy from STM tuning brought this issue up to me and said they were going to need to do some research to see if it would work.
