5th gear rpms' everyone list them.

What RPM's are you at at lets say, 70 mph? I am at 3600rpms, and it is anoying. I would like sopme options for good highway pull trannys, so give me your numbers and help me out. turo, non turbo trans, anything.

I believe mine is at 2900-3000 at 70mph.

I am at about 34-36 as well and i do agree at it being annoying. I havent heard of anything you can do but maybe rebuild the tranny with taller gears which iam not willing to do.

Besides putting a taller 5th gear on, there is nothing you can do except run taller tires. The speedo will be off though.

You should be able to buy a 10% talle gear which is hat I have and it drops 70MPH from 3500 RPM's to near 3100 RPM's. There is a 25% taller gear available but it's noisy but it would drop 70MPH RPM's to 260-2700 rpm's. If you email [email protected] tell him Mark Sweet sends his regards/ Mark

I've checked numerously, and I know tha tmy 5th gearing is 75@3500 rpm, I have a jdm gearbox, is that why its differnt that you guys?

I turn right around 3500 @ 80.
Man, you guys think 3500 is bad, my probe would turn 4000 or so at 80

Well, me rolling stock right now is ruffly 24 inches tall, 15 inch wheels with 205/55r 15s on them. As for my tranny, I have a tranny out on a hydrolic clutched 1.6l in it right now, but I can use whatever tranny I want, cblae, hydrolic, turbo, doesnt matter. My favorite so far was out of a 4 speed cable clutch summit. Man, 1st gear was all day in that pig.

That big 5th gear may not wrok in my tranny, because it is set up for a turbo tranny's final drive, which is different than mine. Besides, it is probably the stock gear out of some other trans that works, just like shep traps @ 167, and has room to go, but it is just a bunch of different stock gears in a combo he likes.

highway runs really arent my thing but when come across the local rust-stang i just drop it down a gear or 2 (depending) and dont have anyproblems.

The other night i was coming home from maryland and a guy in a EVO came flying on my ass then went into the left lane to pass. As he did i dropped a gear and the 02 started screaming. I pulled hard and since there was light traffic in the left lane he turn into my lane and was on my a$$ like white on rice !
