Toronto,
Here is the list of mods I will be getting very soon from slowboy racing for my Stock 99 GSX. What I am wondering if anything I am missing to HAVE these mods installed. Or have car running properly. You get the point… Most of things my buddy and me will install and final check and tuning will be done by at the pro shop.

Basically what I want from these mods
To reach 275 WHP
Have it running stably and with no problems
Lower it 1.5"
+Cosmetic mods, which are not important right now...

Any suggestions will be appreciated…

255 is overkill, will whine alot, I'd go 190lph fuel pump if you truly will be happy with 275whp.

Your boost controller choice is poor. It is a very overly-complex and overpriced unit. Profec B is a better EBC.

ACT 2100 doesn't like to be launched hard repeatedly, for near the same price I would go with the Centerforce Dual Friction 2500lb. Pedal pressure is near stock and it grips better than a 2100.

Everything else looks to be real good, should have a nice mid 12s GSX there.

Don't know what an FMI is but you need some sort of fuel control, I just noticed I didn't see one. AFC would do for your mild upgrades.

FMI is Front Mount Intercooler and I didn't decide on which one yet. That depends on what kind of body kit I get, which is also undecided for :)
I though 255 would be too much. So 190lph it is
Also for the fuel management, I am not really familiar with AFC. And also how exactly do you hook it up or program it? Or that something professional should be doing?
One last thing, with the waste gate.... it directly fits on the exhaust manifold but what is the best release setting for me and should I vent it or reroute it?

Ahh, front mount intercooler is usually abrv. "FMIC" so you caught me off guard. I personally hate bodykits as the 99 looks so clean with just an RMR Front lip. But when you do go FMIC, I recommend RNR's streetcore. www.rnrracing.com It will be a perfect match with your Evo16G and the piping design is quality.

SAFC installation instructions can be found at www.vfaq.com but you could install it yourself, need to tune as the ECU can't just magically compensate for a bigger turbo+bigger injectors, and this unit is very functional and affordable.

Also, if you are putting in Tokico shocks (blue or yellow?) then you don't need/want coilovers, you want a set of springs. I would recommend Eibach prokit for a 2G, I've heard from other reputable tuners that they work well in conjunction with the tockicos.

Ditch that clutch for the CFDF like I said.

Venting your wastegate dump will give a much less chance of boost creep, I would also suggest the 34mm wastegate flapper that slowboy does, and the use of an 02 housing that dumps to the atmosphere instead of external wg option, this should save you some money and seems just as effective on the 16g. This combination is what I have on my EVO big 16g and I get 0 boost creep.

But beware the external dump is very loud at WOT, it basically sounds like a massive exhaust leak, but to me it is worth it for two reasons;

Scares the sh!t out of people when you get on it beside them, LOL,
and the boost creep issues is solved.

Good luck and p.s. I would go DSM Link over SAFC II, I have the SAFC and Datalogger combo and I am switching to DSM link over the winter, from what I have seen and heard it is a much better unit and well worth the extra $300.

Stoner, it looks like he is planning on running a Tial 38mm external gate. Maybe overkill for the little 16G, but far superior if you have the money.

Bah, forgot he was a 2G for a second.

DSMlink>SAFC in that case. I stand by everything else though. And def. atmospheric dump that bi***, reroute is for sissy-men :p

I agree on the wg options, I was just tryin to save him some money so he could pick up that dsm link :thumb:

My setup yeilds absolutely no creep in any gear so far set up to 19psi, I am quite suprised and happy with it. :D

Also one more thing, It looks like you plan to vent your BOV, if you really want to do this you are going to need the GM mas, GM Translator and I/C piping to accomodate it. Otherwise you should just recirculate it back into the air intake or you will loose performance and reliablity. The RFL cannot be recirculated. Get a 1g bov for that purpose

I wouldn't suggest the rfl, it doens't hold boost very well. I would go with and hks ssqv, but thats just me.

95-99 AWD Tokico Illuminas (adjustable) shocks front <--Good

95-99 AWD Tokico Illuminas (adjustable) shocks_rear <--Good

Skunk2 2g coil over kit <--Seen more than a few strip the threads. Spring rates aren't ideal. I'd use fixed springs if you can.

EVO III Turbo <--Good. I'd have it ported also.

FMIC <-- I'd use the AGP FMIC. It has full short route piping, t-bolts, slim line fan, coolant overflow bottle, everything top of the line. Good kit if you don't want to make your own. Can also be ordered for a blow thru' GM MAF set up which I also recommend for tuning and controlling aftermarket injectors. The AGP kit is advertised at the top of the page for $999

Turbo XS Blow off valve H-RFL <--Good or Greddy Type S or Apexi twin chamber

Tial 38 MM with stainless flanges (inlet and outlet) <-- I wouldn't bother with the evo16G.

Super AVC-R <-- Good if you want it. I like the Blitz EBCs better but it's all prefference.

Walbro 255 <-- 190lph like everyone else said

550 cc. ball-style fuel injectors <-- Go with 650cc injectors if you can. About $100 more average.

ACT-2100 Clutch KIt (MB1-HDSS) <-- Fine unless you're going to repeatably launch the car at the track or on the street. Step up to a 2500 centerforce or 2600 ACT if so.

All 90-99 Mitsu. Eclipse and Eagle Talons FWD and AWD Fidanza Flywheels <--Good

2g K and N FIPK <-- Not needed if you switch to blow thru GM MAF but if not, this is fine. Over priced but fine.

4" Intake Pipe without BOV tube <--With blow thru maft fine, don't vent to atmostphere with the stock MAF though

SBR Manifold w/ opened 7cm gasket, fully ported <-- Good

APEXi N1 exhaust <-- Good

No Name HF Cat Conv, 3inch. <--Good

95-99(2g) VRS AWD & FWD downpipe with O2 eliminator2.5" Downpipe stainless steel <--Good

That's all my opinion on the list. If you don't like it, that's ok :)

Thank you guys for your responds. I find it very useful. As for the waste gate, if I have it why is it overkill? It eliminated boost creep so that’s a good thing. Also for DSM Link I have to purchase 95 ECU also but I looked over their software and it very interesting. How do you tune it up? Your self or they do it for you?

Most of the time, with an aftermarket O2 housing or an O2 eliminater down pipe, boost creep isn't an issue. Especally with the evo3 16G. I've got a 2.5" tubular O2 housing recirculated on my ported evo3 16G and I've never had boost creep. Full exhuast also. The whole wastegate set up is pretty expensive and you could spend that money on DSMLink.

DSMLink comes set with some basic settings like injector size and some other options they can pre-program in for you but you tune it using a laptop for the most part.

Ya I got the laptop for that but tuning it... something i don't know about. Is there shops or people who do it or its just common sence using it?
