A buddy at work has some extra saab cold start injectors kicking around and he said i could have one if i wanted it. I just upgraded to a 190lph pump and i have my stock pump just sitting around gathering dust. I was thinking about wiring my stock pump and the injector both to a pressure switch that turned them on at 14 or 15 psi. Im thinking about using a small 1 gallon cell (ex. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/JAZ-...ryZ33556QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem#ebayphotohosting
I dont know if i will be able to use my stock pump with a smaller cell or if i will have to buy an inline pump I will have to look into that as well. The reason i would be using a seperate cell is because i would keep the cell filled with 110 octane Torco. I am also thinking about some sort of fuel guage that i could use to know how much race gas i have in the little cell.

ive read over this site. http://www.xmission.com/~dempsey/minivan/injector.htm and a few others that seem to have had some pretty good luck with extra injectors.
Im hoping that this setup along with a 190 pump and stock injectors could allow me to run 19-20 psi safely on my evo3 16g.
Has anyone else ran a similar setup or see any holes in my plans that i should fix before i start buying parts up?
Also would i need a pressure regulator or could i run right from the pump to the cold start injector?

You will get better results if you use a pulsed injector and something to control it. Cold start injectors run wide open. Also you want to use torco 108 unleaded. Leaded fuels will kill oxy sensors.

I think you are right about 108 being a much better choice but i dont know if a pulsed injector and controller would make much sense because i am doing this in part so i can safely run a little more boost for cheaper than it would cost to get new injectors and a computer. Ive read about quite a few people who have added 4 psi safely with a cold start injector. I am a college student who is about to move 2000 miles from home and i wont be able to afford what it would cost for a computer to control the unit.

The more ive read im also starting to think that i may be just as well to run a tee to the vehicles fuel line instead of running another pump. Im not entirely sure how much this will take away from the other injectors but i do know that it will still result in more fuel than just running the stockers.

How would you make sure that the fuel is being evenly distributed to all the cylinders?

Are you going to tune for the extra injector?

I don't think it's the greatest idea, you would be a lot better off tuning your primary injectors really well and using water injection. After all, what is preventing you from putting out more fuel from your injectors now?

*edit*

I saw your post that you are running stock injectors and don't have the budget for afc/bigger injectors.

I think you would be better off with safe but slower performance now, than using this injector to dump fuel in and hope for the best.

It will work just like a wet nitrous kit. The fuel pressure, boost pressure and atomization fromt he injector would get it to all the clyinders the same way that it does in your suggestion of water injection (which i will be adding later as well)

yes i am gonna tune for the extra injector as well. I havent decided entirely what im going to use to tune for it yet but i am definitely open to suggestions
