Hi I have a 5speed 95 GS-T and im trying to get a 92 talon engine but its a auto tran. engine if i bulit that engine from the inside out and then drop it in could i put a 5speed tran. on it with no problems. I know. if im not mistaken i may need a 1G tran. for it but is the change possiable? Thanks for any answers.:hmm:

if you get the motor from the 92 doesn't matter if the trans is auto or manual the motor is the same. your 95 gst 5 speed trans will bolt up to the 92. as long as both are going into a 2g. As far as i know you cant put a 1g trans in a 2g body cause the mounts are different.

also...... super important, you need to make sure to get the pilot bearing out of the auto, eng. crank.... there a bi*** to get out, go to auto zone and tell them you need a "BLIND - HOLE" puller also you know that tin plate that sits between the block and the tranz.... YEA well that it diffrent from autos vs 5 speed... you WILL NEED a 5 speed tin plate if you ever want your starter and stuff to line up....

i been there done that.. it sucks to have everything bolted an in and forget about that ...then have to TAKE everything back apart , just for 2 little 10mm and a tin plate....:ohdamn:

Thanks A lot for the info! So from the sounds of it im going to have some fun. But the good thing is that it is possible to do this.

u cant swap a 1g tranny into a 2g..what u can do is get just the motor and swap it with your tranny..it will bolt right up..plug and play...LOL

I just thought about something. What about the whole 6bolt and 7bolt deal? Will it still fit with the 2G trany? I just want the engine and built it up and drop it in with the 2G body. What do u guys think?:hmm:

i think u can swap a complete 6bolt motor but it has to be with the 2g tranny..and to swap a 6bolt block with a 7bolt head u have to drill the head bolt holes to the size of the stud in block cause the studs are bigger than the 7bolt ones.
