50 Trim Install Problem

What can I cap off the T-Stat housing wih. I tried using a fuel injecor turbing and blocked off the tubing with a bolt but it failed and coolant went everywhere. Besides welding it shut what else can I do? Any bolts or anything that will fit in there to block it off?

All help is appreciated since im stuck at my gfs house and have to run to the nearest hardware store

Just incase anyone is seeing the same problem as me I fixed it by buying a 3/8" Injector hose and 3/8 nut. Stuck the nut inside the injector hose then fitted it around the T-Stat housing. I then used clamps to tighten them and voila no more leak... for now.
