so i finally got my 50 trim installed and ran into some problem's..1st im overheating due to the fmic, the new fan i installed doesn't want to come on.. i might also just pull all the ac.. winters coming up anyway...when i come to a stop after ive been heating up it want's to stall out,(when it was first ideling it was fine).. ive got a nice 02 housing leak... and a nice oil return leak...other then that it was good..

Doesn't sound like a good install to me. Get back and patch up your leaks so you get proper oil flow. Did you remove your ducting when you did your FMIC? If so, put them back on because it will only help with your overheating problem. If you are still overheating, I recommend draining your coolant and getting a different thermostat, 30/70 mixed coolant and a bottle of water wetter. As for your stalling issue, that sounds like a throttle body problem. Did you mess around with it during your install?

Fan: check the fuse first. Oh man, next summer you're gonna kick yourself.......
Stalling: check all your pre-turbo connections, and (you gussed it) boost leak check.

i did convert from cruise control to non cruise.. ill try the water wetter what does that do anyway.. as for the turbo install yea it wasn't so good..but it hasn't been to terrible for a first timer..quick question.. what would you recomend to plug the water pipe bolt on the block. i was thinking and i think i might have pluged it all the way off..:toobad: and no coolant would be getting past..? not sure but its a possibility

it doesn't use the coolant line's so you could eathier run them into each other or close them off i had to close them off because the turbo was hitting the water line bolt..i dunno if that make's sense or not..

If no coolant was getting through your water pipe, you'd know it. You'd do more than just overheat. But, you MAY have slowed down the flow of coolant if you used a real long bolt in there. If thats the case, you might wanna just take the bolt out and cut it down to size. Long enough to be threaded through, but not so long as its blocking flow.

Next water wetter is a coolant additive sold by Redline that, simply, has been known to drop engine temps. Simple additive. Just add, and drop temps a few degrees.

You seem to be giving up on your fan awful quick. Fans help a lot, you should track down the problem with it. :dsm:

Sure it does. Its an oil-only cooled turbo, so the stock coolant lines for the turbo needed to be plugged. One in the head, and one in the water pipe.

i probably wired it up wrong.. there was like a million and one way's to do it(not really but)..
that would help out tremndously i would think..i ll check both of those tommrow ill cut the old water pipe bolt down and put that in instead of my plug. i have a big plate of stuff to do tommrow..it was greta having a short ride..

Yeah but it'll be even better when its all said and done. I know how anxious one can get when doing this kind of work yourself. You run into problems that take more time to fix, get pissed off when stuff isn't working the way it should. It's worth it in the end to do it once and do it right. But who wants to do that? :thumb:
