What do you guys think. My girlsfriends brother and whole family is in the muscle car thingy. My car is the only car that is a 4 cyl. in the driveway. I want to go to the track this summer and race him. I told his dad that i might beat him and he said no way.

89 LX 5.0- built automatic tranny, and trick flow heads. flowmasters of course LOL. about it on the car.
other mods that might be added- fpr, maybe heads.

95 GSX- stage 2 clutch, 510 cc injectors, safc2, full 3 inch, ported exhaust manifold and o2 housings (BTW how many pounds can i push with this setup and still be safe on t25(I have peaked on this turbo once at 1.6 bar)?? like on the track)
other mods that might be added before summer-evo 16g, and fmic

I would love to shut up the family with my turbo charged car.
Do you guys think i could take him. Im scared only because on the track, spinning is not a big deal.

You better have at least that 16g. Those 5.0's can get pretty mean with boltons. He probably close or over 300hp with those heads, plus a built tranny. The t25 just cant keep up.

do you guys think ill need that. Well how many pounds should I push to beat him. I could push 18 on this t25

If it were me I'd...............

(crank the fun knob up and take my chances) just kidding...:D

pump
data logger
buy and install a wide band.
FMIC

you know the drill

all in all, I would take the measures necessary to insure you don't trash your ride, picking on a V-8....JMO

Although it is a great feeling whipping a "muscle car" with 4 cylinders and 122 ci :thumb:

14b. Do that, and you'll stand a chance. but running higher then 15PSI on the T2slow won't gain you any power.

yea i agree with everyone else. you're gonna need a bit more. you have some time before summer so save up, slap some mods on while they're not looking and shut them up at the track

Bench racing is bad. I would run at least an Evo3 16G. The T-25 is pretty much done at 15 psi so you're not getting anymore out of it. Get the 16G and turn it up to around 20 psi then tune as needed.

I have a friend that has a 2g he boosted the t25 to 20psi and beat another friend of mine that had a 89 mustang HO 5.0. So if you can boost the crap out of your turbo and get every shift perfect maybe u have a chance

Great info. You won't be as lucky as his "friend." Somebody close this thread....

Its not going to happen on a t25.

+1, put on an evo3 turbo, they're cheap these days and get your car well tuned at anything around or above 15psi and you should walk him, you should be running in the 13's at that level, just make sure you nail the launch. If i were you, id go and get this all done soon, then go practice at the track a few times to make sure you know what you are doing, not driving though the staging lights and all that bs that happens the first time at the track, then you can concentrate on driving the car to the best of its and your abilities!

Good luck putting the v8's in their place, at the track of course! :thumb:

Um you say he has trick flow heads, and then you type maybe heads?

Honestly whats going to make or break that car is the cam, and what stall he is running

it could be mean, or he could have a cookie cutter summite racing junk box without a proper tune

I like them, and would like to pick one up some day

The evoIII 16g is proven time and time again at the track. You will need that to secure a good chance against him. You have good fuel. Get a pump like stated and call that done. Then tune, tune, tune. To stand a chance really with the t25, your launch is crucial. Even that attempt is in vain i feel.

As for locking this...why. Nothing bad was said. Maybe for the fact that "U" is not "YOU", but nothing more. Maybe if this was posted in the newbie sect. Rather this is the hangout so lets just chill and discusse.

You need a turbo upgrade you cant take the t-25 more than 15 cause it will shit its guts out. You need some more mods like the above mentioned.

I was the same way tired of the 5.0 and the vettes saying crap so i waxed a few and no one wants to race me but this guy in his 900 hp procharged 97? firebird that runs 9.9 does, but i am the only DSM aroung here in this side of this ### state.

I beat a 94 vette with my 50 trim, 15 psi when i raced him from a 20 roll to 120 stock 6 bolt block with 7k on stock parts and a good street tune by me.

I have the mods in my profile
50 trim, front mount with 2 1/2 piping, 650 injectors chipped ecu for injectors and 2g maf, 2g maf, 3in turbo back, boost controller, apexi safc 2,aremotive?(spelling) fuel pressure regulator, Walbro 255 rewired, act 2600

SAFC was my only management besides the eprom chipped for the maf and injectors.

No bench racing.

When you finally do go to the track, let us know how it turned out.
