What did you 4g64 turbo folks do with the boost control/wastegate actuator solenoid? I haven't read this mentioned in anyone's build. Unless you did a harness swap, I'm assuming you had to add it onto the harness in addition to the knock sensor.

I've read that some have deleted the solenoid altogether but won't that throw a code once I plug in my turbo ECU?

I'm new to turbos and appreciate the input. Thanks.

I’ll be honest, I didn’t add it. I only have a knock sensor that I wired. And you are right, it does throw a cel but I’ve been able to live with it. It doesn’t affect anything from what I know but I could be wrong.

My mpg and car drives fine. I’ve never had any issues with it but it was an eye sore at first. You can keep clearing it obviously but it comes back after a couple of drives.

Thanks. Did you have to change your throttle body to the 4g63t one?

No they are identical in size, just a few things are different but they work the same. You can use the stock one.

I think the only one worth switching to if you want to wire it up is the 1g throttle body since it’s a lil bigger.

In case this helps anyone, this is what I did. It seems to work. Wire in a wastegate solenoid and run the red-yellow wire on pin 1 to pin 11 on the ECU. Then tap the red wire on the MAF for the red wire on pin 2 of the wastegate solenoid. I confirmed the wiring using the circuit diagram and on my spare 4g63t harness.
