Hi Everyone,

Really hoping you guys might be able to help me.

I have a 4g64 which is making a bad noise, it started suddenly and didn't seem to cause any trouble to the engine running, i shut the engine down about ten seconds after it started and have only rotated by hand since. vehicle and engine were at low speed when it started. I have removed the head and all timing gear from the front. The noise sounds like a high pitched scraping metal on metal kind of noise, the pistons move freely, the noise is not present all the time, only when pistons 2&3 are up top. the noise only exists through the last 10% of piston travel.

Anyone come across this before?
Anyone got any ideas?

Any help is greatly appreciated

Thanks

R
