I can't remember but, anyone know which models the 4g64 6 bolt cranks come out of. Any help will be appreciated, Thanks

89-92 Hyundai Sonatas had the G4CS which is the same as a 6 bolt 4g64. The early (90-92?) Mitsu Expos were 6 bolt 4g64s. I think some of the real early Galants too, but I'm not sure on that one. And if you're just looking for a crank, the 2.4 liter late 80s early 90s Mitsu trucks and vans had them. The blocks won't bolt up to our tranny though.

The 4G64 block came in the following vehicles. If you are using both the block and the crank then any thing below that is rwd will not work. I am not sure if a crank from a rwd car will work.

The 4G64 came in a variety of Mitsubishi cars:
Eclipse 2.4 SOHC 1996-1999
Eclipse 2.4 SOHC-16V 2000-2003
Expo 2.4 7-Passenger 1992-1996
Expo LRV 2.4 5-Pass 1993-1996
Galant 2.4 4-Cyl. 1999-2003
Galant 2.4 DOHC 1994-1994
Galant 2.4 SOHC 1994-1998
Montero Sport 2.4 1997-1999
Van & Wagon 2.4 1987-1990

I just recently found an 87 galant with a 2.4 in it at a junkyard. I havent had the chance to see what the engine code is yet, but does this sound like it could be a 2.4 that I can use in the eclipse?
If it seems to possibly be a 2.4 that I can use than I will go back to the junkyard and start pulling it apart to find out for sure. I just dont want to waste one of my days off if its definately not a year that can be used in an eclipse.

The 87 galant is the 6 bolt 2.4 if it is a 2.4 and it will work in a 6bolt, bottom ends are the same just use the turbo front case. I think that they had both a 2.0 and 2.4 so if it is a 2.4 good find.
