Does anyone know how to identify a 4g64 crank? I got mine a few month ago for the 2.3 motor I am building. A few days ago i was reading about a guy who got a 4g63 instead of a 4g64 and the machine shop would not take it back. I just want to make sure I have the right one.

Thanks Juan

You could just compare it to the one you pull out of your motor or a friends if you know anyone with one out of the motor. The 4g64 should have a 6mm longer stroke each direction then your stock 4g63 one, so 12mm longer total. At a glimpse, I'm sorry but I don't know part numbers you need to look for, but I'll look into some other ways to tell for you.

Also where'd you pick yours up at? I wouldn't be picking up a crank from someone unless I had complete trust for them. FP sells brand new ones and I'd sure consider them trustworthy. If you just got it from some machine shop, who knows if its been welded/refurbished. Rotating assembly is one place I wouldn't choose to be saving a couple bucks by going with something I found at a machine shop without being absolutely certain as to what I was getting.

When I got mine from the Junk yard from a Mitsu Van ,it had a stamp on one of the blades. It said "64".Sh!t I almost pulled out every last one there after finding out how hard it is to get

get it offset ground. make a 2.7L Stroker. You'll need shorter (honda?) Rods and custom pistons but you'll start a revolution!!

I had the wrong crank. I now have the right one thanks guys :)

So is there a distinguished marking of anysort or just any easy way to tell now that you actually have seen the right and wrong ones? I may be in this similar situation in a few months and would like to know. Thanks
