I have finally gotten back to putting my engine back together which is a 4g64/4g63 hybrid build, not an all out crazy build just something simple and subtle. Found a nice DOHC head did a valve, spring job on it. Had it machined and everything with a few Evo 8 internals but my question is for after assembly. Since I'm not trying to have a racer just more show car that can carry a regular here and there wear and tear.

Can I use a ECU from the same car I got the cylinder head or the 4g64 ECU or is it a absolute necessity that I have an ECMLink? Is using the factory ECU possible with a non over complex build??

I would expect the ECU from the car that you pulled the cylinder head from should at least get the car started.

DSMLink would allow you to monitor how well it is running and adjust as needed to improve.

Ok so that would be the 1g 4g63 NA I want to turbo it later so ik ill have to get a 4g63T ECU n do a link on it but for now I just need it running once I get it put back together

Big assumption on my part - I figured it was a 2G head and, thus, a 2G turbo ECU. A 1G non-turbo ECU will not work 1) for a turbo engine or 2) in a 2G car. Sorry for the misguidance there.

Find a 2G turbo ECU.

No everything will just be a non turbo stoke 4g64/4g63 hybrid Evo cam gears n shaft spring n valves n stoke parts on the 4g64 block. So finding a stoke turbo 2g ECU wud work for NA and turbo hybrid... So find a factory 4g64T or 4g63T 99 Spyder LOL

Evo cam gears???
Whatever ecu you choose yiu need maf and injectors to match it unless you have a tuning solution.

I took all the components that go to the head fuel rail injectors cooling components etc minus the connectors for all the new sensors that the sohc didn't have. Can I add these connectors to the engine harness n if so how does that process go

It involves identifying what sensors need to be wired in, determining what connectors, terminals, and wires are need for those sensors, terminating them at the sensor and at the ECU (presumably, check the wiring diagrams).

You can “add” this to the existing harness or run your own additional wiring without opening up the existing. Be aware that starting with a harness for the 4G64 won’t be as easy as finding a harness for a 4G63. Here’s a good thread that covers a lot of the issues you might run into as you get into it, albeit a turbo application.
