first off sorry this probably isn't the right place to post this, but i'm new to posting stuff. and the site wont let me post any where else (###)...... anyway i have a gs-t that works fine but the body sucks and the eingine needs lots of work, i mean LOTS!! sooo we talk about it. but my question is i also have a 420a 98 gs, i want to know what parts can i use to make this gs a turbo application? i need help big time. if someone could please explain the parts that can be used, it would be much appreciated.

i guess im asking can the fuel pump the turbo lines and downpipe etc. be bolted on the 420a?

You pretty much can't use anything drivetrain related. Nothing will bolt up correctly. Just pop the hood on both of your cars and look at each of them. The motors aren't even situated the same way.

I suppose to make the 420A turbo, you could cut of the flanges on each exhaust manifold and swap them and reweld it, but then you would still have to flip the turbo around, make a downpipe and intercooler pipes and other stuff like that. Even if you did manage to get the turbo mounted and working, you would still need a different wastegate actuator or an external one in order to only boost around 8lbs since that is the limit on a 420A with stock internals since it has higher compression.

Simply put, No you cannot swap things around and it is not worth it trying.

Maybe you could sell the gst and buy a turbo kit for the 420A. Here is a great site where they sell them.

Hope that info helps you a little bit on your decision.

thanks now i know. but i have a lot of after market parts on the gs-t
i have a greddy FMIC, HKS bov, 550 injectors, and s-afc so none of these thing can be used? i was reading some where in here that i could be a cheap ass and build my own kit i just can't believe that the turbo on there is useless for the 420a. what makes the turbo so hard to mount right? why? if you could explain more my brain is like a sponge. i need more information to talk me out of it.

Better yet, why don't you read some of the many threads discussion the impracticality of the conversion? Here's one: http://dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=226084&highlight=4g63+420a+conversion

And please soak this up: This is a technical forum and we attempt to use clear, concise communication, complete with capital letters at the beginning of sentences. Also, a little searching before starting a new thread keeps the forums from being clogged with useless threads.
