4g63t motor swap?

if i swap the 4g63t motor into my 93 eclipse gs, will my stock transmission hold up, or will i have to by a turbo transmission from a stock gst or something.

I have a 93 talon es and am doing the turbo swap right now myself. You'll be ok with the n/a tranny if you plan on staying with the stock turbo hp numbers (195 or so) anything over that and you will need the turbo trans. The gears in the turbo trans are a lot beefier so it can handle more punishment. Also make sure you get a 93-94 fwd turbo transmission so you don't have to go and buy new axles.

This has been asked many times before, and I have awnsered it a bunch. It all comes down to what you are looking to make for power, staying at the stock 1G power level of 190hp at the crank, or going bigger. If you go bigger go turbo tranny, if staying stock you can use the n/t tranny for a bit. But the turbo tranny will take more punishment. The n/t trannjy has a better gearing ratio for drag, but since its so weak, the turboed tranny is the best choice when making power.
