i have a 2.0 non turbo and i m wanting to put an 4g63t in it what all will i have to do to do that and will i have to change the mounts: or will it be better to just get a turbo kit for the motor i have know...i have a 98 eclipse :dsm:

Seeing that you have 98 n/t, it has the 420A motor in it. Doing the 4g63 swap will probably cause you more headaches than you could imagine. It would mean swapping the entire harness and doing plenty of custom fabricating. Although this has been done before, you may just be better off turboing your n/t. I do not mean to sway you one way or the other, but swapping the 4g63 for the 420A is not an easy task...big_d

to my knowledge (i could be wrong) but the 420a motor eclipses are almost completely different cars. the ecu is under the hood so the wiring harness is way way different, the motor faces the other way so you would need a tranny too. i have never heard of anyone swapping the 420a cars. most people in my town sell those and buy a GST or GSX. you will spend more money (way way way more) trying to swap your car when you could pick up a 95-96 GST for like $4000

Please use the search button before posting new threads, this question has been asked and answered hundreds of times. Technically, the answer is yes since anything is possible. However, the amount of cost and fabrication involved makes the logical question "no" since they're pretty much two different cars. Furthermore, please use proper grammar, punctuation and capitalization when posting in tech sections, that applies to you as well TerribleTSi.
