4g63t into 1.8

I have a 90 Laser auto with a 1.8 in it. I also have a wrecked 90 Talon TSI FWD 5 speed. How long would it take to swap the 4g63 engine and trans into the laser. I am going to do the swap so dont try to convince me not to bc a friend is going to buy the 1.8 for the amount that i have in the car. I just would like to have a AWD and fwd to play around with. Please no Flames. ThANks in Advance

wait...you say you have a 90 1.8 and a 90 tsi fwd...but under your user name it says you have a 90 tsi awd....do you have all 3 of these?


also i know you dont want people telling you not to do the swap, but since it seems like you like the 90 dsms....maybe you could consider buying a 90 awd or fwd turbo seeing how you can get them for between 500-1200 dollars in most cases. and you will have piles of parts off your wreched 90 to throw on it where needed. you will spent ALOT of hours/days/weeks tearing your 90 1.8 apart and swapping everything over.

Yea i have a 90 AWD, 90 FWD T, and 90 NT. I thought i'd try to do the swap so i could possibly have a good FWD and good AWD bc the body is in great shape on the NT so i saw it as an opprotunity and I just dont want to see the car sittin in the back yard with no motor just doin nothin. Ima go for it.

It took about 4 days working on it alone with 15+ hr workdays that week. If you have somebody helping you out that's reasonably good with cars, it should take about 2 days. Upgrade your suspension and brakes first. The D21 chassis suspension and brakes are trash and inadequate for turbo. :thumbdown

swapping the 4g63 into a nt is easier then putting one into a Hb civic. so go for it i would say it would take about a week to do.

That depends on the skills of the installer. Didn't you buy your car with the swap already completed?

why would you even think of putting a mitsu into a honda...its fwd ..and people will think the civic is actually fast when its a mitsu heart doin all the work. Dont get me wrong n/t civics will murder any n/t dsm but ...switching engines like that...just wrong.

1.8L to 2.0L T sounds and looks easy. My buddy and i parked his TSi and my rallied to hell 1.8L clipse and looked stuff over, its not hard, maybe a few brackets need to be fabricated. ive put a 383 stroker in a jeep wrangler...yes i know more room to work with, but its basically al lthe same stuff..stoker had less wires though
