4G63 6-bolt to 7 bolt conversion helpp!

Do you mean take a 7bolt out and replace with a 6bolt, or take out the 2g 7bolt and replace with a 1g 7bolt? I ask because from the looks of your pics it looks like a 7bolt motor already in there, at the very least a 2g 7bolt head. And the pic of the motor outside the car is either a 1g 6bolt or a 1g 7bolt.

im switching motors because on the current one im running it has a blown piston and i got the motor for a good deal froma friend, and its a1g 7bolt, someone said i could just slapit on like that ?

That looks like a complete motor, so slap it in, use the CAS that is on the 6bolt and you should be ready to go.
Are you sure that 7 bolt is good, looks like someone had the valve cover off for some reason and if water has gotten into those spark plug hole....

Only other potential prob, flywheels between GST and GSX are different sizes. If both from GST - no worries.

Trans will fit. I believe you just have to switch the drivers motor mount and rewire the CAS to work and possible switch spark plug wires around. I did a 6 bolt swap in my old 2g and I think that is all that was needed.

Yeah it has the 6bolt in, I'm converting to a 1g 7bolt on a 2g eclipse because the CAS on the 1g 4g63 has it like right on the head across from the exhaust cam and Idk where the 2g 4g63 CAS was located because it wasn't in the same spot as this one those are my worries

As long as your 2g has been already prep'd for a 6 bolt a 1g 7bolt is a direct drop. I swapped a 6bolt into my 93 7bolt back when I lost a timing belt on it and didn't have to do anything. They dont have a crank sensor you dont have to rewire the cas and the spark plug firing is the same.

So it's perfectly fine with just slapping it on and wiring everything the same as the 6bolt?

As long as your car is wired for a 6 bolt, yes. What clutch/flywheel do you plan to use? Is the donor engine from a gst?

*Are you sure the donor engine is good? What tests did you perform? In the picture it doesn't even have a timing belt, just looks questionable.

Yeah I did the pan had metal shavings mixed with the oil and two of the pistons were fried the motor was gonna give out anyways, but were thinking about just rebuilding it taking parts from the 7bolt to add to the 6bolt because I heard that its better to have a 6 than a 7
