i want to talk to somebody who has done a 4g37 to a 4g64 swap. i need to know what needs to be changed like the ecu, harnesses, etc. please help me with this. if you can send me a message.

Wow talk about no searching at all. I'll give you a hint. For the 4g63, you need new mounts, ECU and harness, not to mention everything connected to the motor and other misc. electrical and fuel related items. That, in and of itself, is going to be a pain. Trust me, I'm doing it right now.

Now, onto the 4g64. I don't really think you can just slap a 4g64 into your car. Physically you could make it work, but you need to run it as a 4g63 (using that ECU and sensors and what not) but to do that, you'll need to convert it over to the DOHC head, and by doing that, you're going to need new pistons and rings at the minimum.

This is a VERY vague idea of what you need to do, and trust me, it won't be easy. Honestly, if you're going to swap anything, swap in the 4g63 and then do what you want to stroke it.

AND SEARCH!!!!

I hope you enjoy swapping out the entire wire harness. No half stepping, that's a lot of work. DSMs have enough wiring issues being 14-18 years old. By the time your done you'll be bald from ripping your hair out and an alcoholic.

Eh, the harness isn't that bad. As long as you have a known good one. Honestly, I've stressed more about finding all of the little items I need to get this thing to run. So it can be done, just be prepared for a lot of work.

True, but 4g63 uses a ignition coil and power transitor not a distributor. The ecu is also different.
