The leather on our 2G steering wheel is getting ugly.

We looked around for DIY leather replacement kits (not the slap-a-cover over the old one kit) and can’t find them anymore. There are services that will recover wheels for you and we’ve gotten quotes of $450+.

There are excellent condition 4G leather covered wheels still out there. We’ve looked and there appears to be exactly one former member here who claims he was able to install a 4G steering wheel into his 2G with only the cruise lever modification.

There are a few more articles and posts that detail an Evo steering wheel needing modifications to work on a 2G, but very little mention of 4G compatibility.

Any assurances or ideas on solutions would be appreciated.

That's a factory Infinity radio. The aux in was way ahead of its timef
Factory Infinity radio from what car? I recall the 2G Eclipse Infinity radio looks different, but i’d definitely like to get the same one you have, is yours from a 3000GT? I think i recall those having Infinity radios as well, if not then perhaps the Dodge Stealth? Maybe the Avenger or Seabring?

Update: after some digging around i learned its the Infinity radio to the Dodge Stealth, definitely gonna see about getting myself one of these, if i may trouble you for some more info, did you find it hard to install? Or was it plug and play? Also how does the audio sound with it? I’d love to hear your experience if its not too much trouble.

There were a couple different versions that came in the 2g. The earlier ones has a tape deck and aux in. The later ones had tape deck and cd.
