Hey, I've been trying to find info on this but have found out that its not to common. I'm wanting to put 4G seats in my 1G. Theres one member on here that has done it but he has not answered back. So I came to you guys. Info I'm trying to find is, how well do they fit, bracket mounts, or a thread that i have not found.

if you can weld... buy some square steel and build a frame to fit your 1g sliders. really not all that hard to do. Measure twice, cut once, weld it up & drill mounting holes.

We do this kinda stuff at the shop all the time with older notchback mustangs with the cheap jegs seats.
works great and easy on the wallet !

Ok because I found this thread http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/custom-fabrication/417056-evo-seats-1g.html but no offense to the that did it but I want it to look like the car came with them. he got it done atleast, also does anybody know how much head room there will be because I'm 6'2" and I wanna make sure I don't have to cut a hole in the roof to see. Lol if no one know then ill let you guys know when i get them. I'm searching for some now hard to find.

Youre 6'2" and own an ECLIPSE LOL. Im 5'7 and feel cramped. Ive always wondered what it must look like seeing a tall guy climb into a dsm....hahaha Just fn with ya. Hey, you get those 4g seats in there, make sure to keep us posted. And if theyre too high for ya, they might be perfect for midgets like me!

Lmao will do, my first dsm the seats were so worn out I had an awesome amount of head room. Now i got some ok seats I'm like wow this feels tight. And I'll make sure I document it real good.

i'm 6' 2" as well and own a 1g.

2G's are more cramped and harder to fit into than a 1g IMO; and I have driven both.

My first car was a 93 1.8 eclipse and come to think of it, youre right. It did seem like it had more headroom. I sat very low in that car

He's close, but it for sure doesn't look like a factory install. I'm telling you, you'll be better off using the flat bar with your stock sliders, and it'll leave enough room for your tall ass ! LOL j/k

I'm 6'0'' and I feel ya.. I drive a 2g and if I were any taller :ohdamn:

im 6'1" and a quarter, the seats in my 2g were super worn and i had a bunch of head room and when i installed new factory leather (went from gray cloth to blk leather) i personally ended up having more head room.

Ok I'll try that when I get them and let you guys know. Hopefully I can find some soon before i buy something else, and use my seat money up.

Are we driving the same cars? I'm 5'11", and while that's certainly not as tall as some of you guys, I've never felt cramped or squeezed in my 2G. As a matter of fact, it feels like it fits perfectly. And I have room to go backwards on the seat.

Maybe they have sunroof cars?
I know a 2g with a sunroof kills the head room!:notgood:

Yea, I've never been in a 2g that doesn't have a sunroof. I didnt know they were that different. Thats cool to know.

6'8" here and 280lbs. Can't fit in a 2g, but mt 1g TSi and 92 colt with the 4g63t fit just fine! Definitely measure the seat height to make sure uou can still fit

Yea if its to tall I'll just make the mount as low as I can. That way i can squeeze the most room out.

I know the quality of mitsu oem is probably better, but some of those higher priced "universal fit" ebay seats are actually not bad. I mean if you can weld and do very basic metal working you could have a very nice looking set of seats for under 400 bucks.
Im in the same boat, i want a very comfortable interior and am looking for options. Leather is always the best IMO. It has better lower back support and is firmer.

I've looked at different seats but i love the look of oem seats, and I don't wanna pay a ton for evo seats. So I'll wait for someone wanting to get rid of their 4g ones, but IMO I love the way they feel.

True, no fn way im paying 800 bucks for USED evo seats. Thats a joke. Well, keep combing craigslist or maybe a 4g forum til ya find ya a set.

I'm 6' and I put aftermarket seats in, I have to lean them back a little extra so my head doesn't hit the roof of my 2g.

Hey gearhead if you get a car in the shop that needs custom seat brackets before I get those seats, snap a few pics would ya?
