420a turbo kit, which one to go with?

Okay, so since i can't find any decent 2g dsm's with a 4g63t engine in it in my area, I have decided to turbo charge my 420a...

but... I need some feedback on which kit to go with, which one did you choose how has it been for you?

i don't want to spend more than 2k on the kit, but i'm flexible so just post what kit you went with, how much it cost you, and has it held up pretty well for you?

piece together a used kit. Soup to nuts, none of the new ones will provide you everything you need for <$2K and do you really want to trust your motor's health to the quality of the new chinese kits on ebay that require fabrication of ic piping, downpipes, etc?

I trusted my motor to Chinese quality Ebay parts
got everything i need for <$1300 bucks, there are some good parts on there, you just have to sort through them all.

aright cool, yea i wasn't going to get it off ebay, but i might just go with hahn or slowboy turbo kit, i mean its reliable, worth the money.

Cmon guys the guy said he wants to buy a kit, not piece his own together. Not all of us have the time and skills necessary to set up our own turbo kits. (I included)

So I'd rather just buy a kit.. With that said I heard hahns kit was decent.

The 2 kits listed are decent, but IMO overpriced. Would be easier to find and piece together your own kit, and it will give a better understanding of your car than getting a kit and being totally lost as to what all the bits you just got shipped to your door in a box actually do.

I dont have much expierance with turboed 420a cars but, I have dealt with turboed saturns and cobalts. Its not something you can just jump into headfirst.

TBQH reading as many tech articles as you can before you go jumping in headfirst is a good idea.

To be quite honest, I would just find a cheap manifold of ebay and not go into building one unless you are or know a very good welder.

I wouldn't purchase any kind of kit from those guys...Expect to be missing some parts, even if you pay for them.

If you're dead set on a kit, the Hahn one is a great choice. But like others have said, piecing together is such a good thing to do- You learn about each individual part, where it goes, why you need it, and you can get some great quality stuff. I spent under a grand and the only no name thing I have is the turbo itself.

+1 then when shit starts breaking you know what to look for and what to replace..

i spent less than a grand to turbo my car....but i did all the work. i got about 600 miles in on the turbo and still going strong

maybe if you downshift and see more than vaccumm
