420a to 4g63 swap: Axles

I'm currently changing my 95 gs(420a) in to a gst (4g63), have almost everything, engine, ecu, wiring harness. But I need to get the tranny. thats when it dawned on me, are the gs axles going to work on the 4g63 tranny(f5m33)? is the spline count different? any help would be great

I would assume it is VERY much different since the 420a is a chrysler made engine & transmission. Did you notice that the engines are completly opposite of each other before deciding to do this swap?

Yeah, I know the trannys are on different sides, but that doesn't help with the axles. I've already started to mod the engine for the install, and almost done.

I am about to do the same swap with a GS. The axles are different, the motor mounts are all the same, the difference are the mounting locations on the car it would need to be modified to bolt the 4G63 to the GS body. You will need the 4g63 tranny and axles of course, and the shift cable might need to be change, there is a slight difference. Also the radiator support is different. The only difference is the two large bolt to the bottom that support the croos bar under the car is in a slightly different location. Let me know if you have any questions.

Definately let us know when this is done. Let people know if it was worth it, the cost, and the labor involved. I would suggest visiting a local junkyard, look at some wrecked 2g turbos, and note all the differences, to smooth out the process.

buying the front subframe from a turbo car that has been rear-ended would probably make the swap much simpler.
