Ok, so I was driving my baby the other day and the hydraulic tensioner for the timing belt broke.
When this happened, it went ahead and broke the timing belt, and bent valves in my motor.

I have a guy at a junk yard that has a 3g 2002 eclipse with a 4g64 SOHC motor in it, and the motor is facing the right way. I was wondering if it is at all possible to put the 4g64 into my 98 Talon ESI. I've searched and all I can find is info on how the motor isn't able to be swapped because it faces the wrong way, which this one does not. The intake comes out the rear of the motor, and around the drivers side, just like my 420a. The exhaust comes out the front of the motor, and the passenger side motor mount, along with the front motor mount, seem to be in the right place.

I can get this whole car for 700$. That includes the Motor, Transmission, Wiring Harness, EVERYTHING.

I know the motor runs, the car was just flipped.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

By the way, I did read the engine swap forum, and I followed the link to 2gnt.com. I could not find what I was looking for.

Your not going to find any instructions or write up on how to do it, one is a Chrysler engine one Mitsubishi. If it can be done you would probably be one of the first to try it that's why you cant find any info about it. For $700 you should easily be able to find another 420a or Chrysler 2.4

Thanks Synthetek, I think I am going to pass on this one then. I just wanna get my baby back on the road, and I'm not going to waste $700 on a swap that "MAY" be done.

Find a 420a head if your motor doesn't have too many miles. Swap heads and go for it. Plus, while it's opened up you will have to put on a new head gasket (google "head gasket 420a) and you'll see why.

I know, I was just curious about doing an engine swap. I would like for the 420a to be running again, but I am clueless about where to get a cheap head for my car. I'm almost positive it bent valves, the tensioner locked up, the timing belt broke, and the white lines on the cam gears are no longer lined up. I'll take the head off and see what needs to be done though. My engine has 178k on it, so I'm not even sure if rebuilding the head would be worth it...
