ok so my friend it seems is stuck with a 420a its a 97 talon. not sure of the sub model but i know its N/A. that means 420a correct? anyway what are his options as far as perfomance. I have a chance to pick up a second 4g63 with a full auto awd setup for $250 and he knows about it and wants to buy it from me. i was sorta hoping to keep it what can i tell him honestly to his 420a so i don't get guilted into giving up my spares.

this is probly the hardest swap to do on a dsm. Mounts need to be fabricated. if not done correctly it will put the car all over the road. If he wants awd, he'd need a tranny (if his is manual), transfer case and the manual rear. Thats just the main parts then theres stuff like the gas tank, exhaust piping, basically anything youd find different on an awd goes on his car. Im not sure about the rear brakes. Its possible to do it there was once an esi that had been converted awd turbo for sale on here or dsm trader.

the turbo engine swap is difficult enough, the AWD swap would be rediculous. check out the NT tuning guild to find out what he could do, or go to the NT section and search.

yea the guy posted in the ad that it was cheaper on insurance. Which is cool but I dunno is 20 dollars less +/-, a month worth it? in nj at least

Refer him to 2gnt.com or suggest he buy a new vehicle. I would think a whole turbo AWD conversion on a 2G N/T divided out over several months, plus all the downtime without the car would outweight the insurance expense.

You know whats kinda funny? I always thought that Turbo would be more expensive than N/T when it comes to insurance. The last time I got insurance the guy gave me a quote of 76$ a month and he thought I was N/A then when he found out my car was turbo he typed it in and it came out to 77$ a month. So I don't see what the big deal is?

And if your 24 or under or not, married or not.

right im sure previous driving record will have something to do with it. if you have a bunch of speeding tickets, im sure they would jack the price up if you got a fast car.

Thats true, I do have a perfect record. I just figured the difference was going to be more than 1 dollar a month. I just think more people should check it out first than assume it's going to be more expensive and buy a slow car. A lot of people do that.(myself included). Luckily I didn't care it was AWD Turbo or nothing ;)
