:confused: I have a problem with my motor but just cant figure it out. I'll give you guys some info on what its doing and if you no whats wrong or might be wrong let me no please. Well here it goes, first off when I start the car I have to give it gas to completely turn on if I dont the car will stall out. When I first start up the car i have to let it warm up for about 5 to 10 mins or it will stall no matter what, even if the car ran for a hour if I shut it off and turn it right back on it will still do it. I've tried messing with alot of things in the engine bay. I came across the EGR. Whenever I tried to mess with it, it would make the car stall out. I have 2 EGRs though one where its suppose to be coming off of the intake and on the downpipe which had hoses connected to it and it wasnt capped off, it was going into another EGR. Another problem that I've been having was that I would be driving and if I would give it gas, the rpms would jump around for example if the rpm would be around 4 grand it would drop down to about 3 grand and come right back up but sometimes it would jus keep doing it constantly and make the whole car buck until I shift. One more thing, I think theirs an electrical problem also. For some odd reason all my light in the car including headlights, gauges, and dome lights all flicker to my engine. Also my turn signals work but shut off after awhile so sometimes I dont even have turn signals. I thought it was the assembly itself, so I went to the junkyard and pulled one but its still doing it. Whats wrong with my car! :confused:
 
i feel like you have an alternator issue for the light issue. and for the other one does it feel like a gear slippin? and does it only do it in a specific gear?
 
It really does it in almost ever gear that i can remember. I no it does it in 2nd 4th and 5th. and for the question about the gears slipping. Idk about my gears slipping but I'll tell you what they do. Sometimes when I will shift it would feel like its in gear but as soon as I let out the clutch it grinds.
 
Does it feel like it goes into gear ok if the car is off and the clutch is not depressed? It could be an issue of the linkage not being lined up. Also, when the car is running, you can do a sychnos check by having the car running in neutral and then without depressing the clutch, you can attempt to put the shifter into any gear slowly. If the synchro is good, it will drop the RPM of the engine as it attempts to go into gear if its bad, it will just grind. If thats the case, you have bad synchros. (if you have a 5-speed tranny. Sounds like u do)

As far as the starting issue, I had a very similar issue when the temp sensor on my car that has the perpendicular spades or a "T", had a broken wire. But my problem would go away once the car was warm. Only at while the engine was cold did it give me problems.

Another thing you might check is to see if there is black smoke coming from your exhaust when you startup even though you punching the gas. I have a Buick that has 2 bad injectors and it leaks fuel after the car is shut off. Causing the engine to be EXTREMELY rich at initial startup (4-48 hours sitting. anything more and the fuel would evaporate?) If you are having a similar issue, you would notice a rough idle when you first start the car followed with black exhaust. It is quite amusing sometimes haha.
