So I have done a lot of reading about the 420a head and read that they can take a beating. So after I upgrade the fuel system and build the bottom end use MSnS, and turbo it, I was wondering if I could get away with using the stock head until I can save enough to get the cams lifters, rockers, 1mm+valves, ect. And if I can use the head, how much power can it withstand. Thanks once again for your imput. It helps.

The head is pretty beast, it can take a beating as you said..I have not come across anyone braking the head. It will take whatever you can throw at it. It's just the bottom end you need to worry about.

Im running the stock head on a built motor. Just ported and polished it when I rebuilt the motor and its fine. Stock cams are acutally pretty good for forced induction. You only need to upgrade the spring, retainers, etc... if you plan on reving over stock 7k limiter.

7300rpm is the limiter in M/T; 6464rpm in A/T.
It's rumored (by HRC I think) that the head starts to lift at 400hp.

The 7/16" ARP head studs start to stretch near those cylinder pressures, from what I have heard from people in the know.

wait so the head starts lifting at 400hp with the arp head studs. How are these people managing to hit higher with no troubles, or are they just not mentioning them?

Cutting the head for 1/2" studs is the convention with high boost 420a's.

What is possible to use a from a neons 420a to rebuild the eclipse 420a? I do know they are reversed does that affect anything?

I think what you are asking is if it is possible to use a Neon head on an Eclipse. The answer is no.

And in case you're not specifically speaking of the head, you can use a neon block.

edit: by the way, noob using the search function A+
