420a engine removal question

Believe it or not, yes it is. I watched "xceler8" do it on his motor, He had to jack his car up, use a cherry picker to hold up the engine and un hook the tranny from under neather, then pull the motor up and out.

yea im trying to do it the simplest way possible..i spun a bearing last weekend and im getting the new engine on tuesday..i was hoping removing the engine without removing the transaxle was possible ### it seemed like itd be less work..i was also hoping to be able to do it without removing the ac compressor but i kinda think im gonna have to

Nah, you don't have to remove the axles or the AC compressor... don't listen to that buffoon.

Just unbolt the AC compressor and PS pump and drape them over the passenger's side fender; no need to disconnect the lines whatsoever.

When you go to pull the engine, just make sure you remove the crank pulley. Then, make sure the passenger's, front, and rear engine mounts are removed. Jack the transmission up as high as possible, and lift the engine out. It's really not difficult as long as those three engine mounts are gone and the crank pulley is off.

Exactly, I have pulled my motor three times without doing anything to the tranny except support it.
