have a rattleing sound at high rpms. sounds like its in valve cover but checked everything and it looks fine. not sure if i have a lifteror valve problem or maybe a spun bearing. hopeing its not internal parts. searched everywhere and cant find anything so any help would be great. i have a link on youtube check it out if you could. YouTube - Spun Rod Bearing???

It kinda hard to tell from the speakers on my phone, does it sound more like a rattle or a knock. If you have a peice of rubber hose you can use that to discover where the noise is coming from if you hold it to your ear. If its internal use a long screw driver to help isolate it.

its more of a rattle. ill try tonight with a hose but it sounds like its coming from back side of valve cover near intake

just found some hose so i went out and looked around and cant really make out were its at. it was loudest through the hose around mid head near intake

i was just out trying to get a better video and check engine light came on so im on my way to get it checked to see what it reads. wish me luck making it home haha ill post results

camshaft position sensor code p0340 is what came up.

still doing some searching and im stuck. pulling the oil pan off tom to see if i can find anything out. hopeing its not my bearings all though itll give me a reason to rebuil but just like most ppl im tight on money at the time so hopefully not. thanks for the replys though

Check your timing belt, mine had a similar problem, just pull the little cover off.

im thinking it may be the tb tentioner. the cars got almost 150000 miles and not sure when the last owner changed it or the belt. im going to look into it tom. Ive been researching for about 3 days now and i find all sorts of people with the same problem but no solutions but i have an idea of a few things to look at tom so wish me luck.

Back when I used to play with 420a's I had a similar problem and it was one of the pullies that was worn out and had some play. Might wanna check those too.

Doesn't sound like a bearing... sounds like you have a little bit of a vacuum leak =P but I know that's not the noise you are talking about.

yea your right i forgot i took it off when i took the vid sorry about that. trying to get the ps bracket off now. theres a rounded off bolt on the bolt against fender wall and its kicking my ass. thats all i have left to get off to take cover off.

already have everything there seems fine

so the timing looks good. actually looks like everything was just replaced. took oil pan off found no metal shavings of any kind but did have a slight milky look to oil so im just going to pull everything and do a fresh build once i get the cash since i gotta pull the head to change my head gasket. as far as bearings they all looked good and had no play in anything. maybe a pin in the piston???idk but soon as i get the rebuild ill update on what happens. thanks for all your time and hope i get no bad news.
