Hi everybody. Working on a 1998 Eclipse GS. I have another no start problem and have been searching online for days. No spark or fuel injector pulse. I am checking voltages at the crankshaft and camshaft sensor and everything checks out but the ground(black/green stripe wire). I get a constant 3volts. I grounded it and it drained my battery quick. I ohmed out the wire to negative battery and it read 33ohms. when I ohmed it to the positive terminal of the battery it read open. So I really am lost now on what to do next. Thanks

Yes, I've seen these posts before, but they still don't help. I have checked the sensors and they read fine. Pin #43 on my ecu(98 eclipse) is supposed to be ground for vss, map, tps, camshaft sensor and crankshaft sensor. It shows ground till I turn the key, then I get 3v. Is it possible that one of the sensors in that row have burnt up and are shorted internally?

if one of the other sensors shorted out could have possible took the ecu sensor ground out as well. I don't know how likely the chance of it is but if worse comes to worse you may check out the ecu itself for damage. hopefully thats not the case and its just some other wire shorting out.

I can't check my ecu out. It's potted with a gel or something. I unplugged all my sensors and it still read 3 volts. So I cut the wire going to the computer and checked the harness side and it read 6.5v. Computer side read 2.5volts. If i pull the big 40amp fuse for the ignition it goes away but i can't run the car like that.

Can someone run outside and with the key on, see if you get voltage to the black/green stripe wire on your camshaft sensor. It's alot to ask but I don't know anyone around me with a dsm. I took apart the wiring loom and I went through it and there are no breaks or anything. I'm stumped!

Okay, did some more checks and I get 6volts to the black/green wire(with the key on)that is ground for crankshaft, camshaft, vss and oxygen sensor. If I start unpluging sensors the voltage starts going down. If i unplug vss it goes from 6volts to 5.15,then camshaft, voltage drops to 4.35. I don't know whats going on.
