Ive read post on here all winter long. My wife gets so mad that im on here every weekend for hours LOL. I think I know what to do then read a post and I'm confused again.

My car is a 3 year project. I want to hit 10's with spray but know I cant until I do a 6 bolt or better rods and pistons in the 7 bolt.

I'm getting head studs and a good head gasket, 850 injectors, Have the chipped 95 Eprom, DSM link, Will get 38 external wg, Innovative hand held wb. Look at my profile, Getting fuel pressure regulator, Greddys big fmic, Act 2600.

I'm hoping with a good tune and about 20 psi to hit in the high to mid 11's first year, This summer.

Next summer with better bottom end either 6 bolt or this 7 bolt low 11's with boost up around 30 psi.

Then a Shep transmission the 3rd year and spray.

Ok what im confused about is the turbo. Was going to go 50 trim but don't think that would get me to the 10's with spray or would it. Then thought about a pte 60 trim, also thought about a 57 trim.

I only drive this on the weekends to go find races and im not worried about stop light to stop light racing. I do 1/4 mile. What do some of you guys think for an older guy that is out for serious fun. I do a little cruising also but not much.

Any help on turbo would be great. Do I go for the 60, the 57, or 50 trim. Thanks for any info.

Save it and buy a house someday. Your wife will appreciate it.
Already have a house and almost payed off.

All of those turbo's are too small to consistently get into the 10's, unless your car is under 2600lbs. I have the 60 trim and it would be a huge pita to get into the 10's with this turbo. I would get a built shortblock, cams, intake manifold, and the biggest bolt on turbo you can find. Don't get the greddy intercooler, you can do a lot better than that. Check out evil_eagle's car. He's consistently in 10's with a stock tranny and street tires.

A 50trim could get you into the 10s with a really really good tune and spray, but I would go with either the 57 trim or the 60. If you can afford it, try doing some research on the fp3065 from forced performance.

It will get you to your goal but you'll need their custom o2 housing and a 44 tial wastegate plus everything else. Try looking at that first before you make your decision.

The 50 trim is a great turbo, but I don't think it will let you achieve your goals. Were you thinking of the hybrid turbos with DSM flange pattern? Have you thought about a full T3/T4 setup? You'd need a different manifold, but you'd replace that anyway. You could run something like a GT-35 or GT-42. Have you looked at Forced Performance turbos? The FP Green has been a DSM favorite for years:

This is taken from the FP website: "Curt Brown's 1G AWD race car ran a 10.7 @ 130mph with no nitrous. Loren Jacobs' full weight 2G AWD street car ran 11.5 @ 125mph, also without nitrous."

The FP3065 and FP3052 are also very high performance turbos. Talk to evil_eagle, he has experience with many FP turbos and he's deep into the 10's last I saw.

I was thinking about a PTE 6031 or 6131 is like the Fp red turbo from importevolution.com .They are only 15 miles from me. The 6031 they have is like a 600 hp turbo and the 6131 are like a 650 hp turbo. They have like 3 different 6031s and 3 6031 turbo's
If you say dont go with the Greddy FMIC how about the big 2g from extremeintercoolers.com .
I will change intake maybe next year but would like to keep the EVO manifold
Some thing I forgot, Is 2 1/4 ic pipes good or should I go with 2 1/2.

Also, How do you know what size wg to go with. And hi Andrew, Splitpi

I didn't even notice you were in CR, I used to live there. It's too damn cold though.
For the intercooler, I would see what other people in the 10's are using. Definitely 2.5" pipes though. The FP 3065 or 3575 would be a great choice. I'm not a fan of precision turbo but lots of guys like the SCM61.

This is taken from the FP website: "Curt Brown's 1G AWD race car ran a 10.7 @ 130mph with no nitrous. Loren Jacobs' full weight 2G AWD street car ran 11.5 @ 125mph, also without nitrous."

Anything Curt Brown drive goes a second faster than it should.
