Got a chance to get an FP 18G (the fp68hta) for a decent deal. Got a tial wastegate, ported 02 housing and blah blah. Currently running a big 16g with 7cm housing evo manifod
ld and ported 02 housing. Now from what ive read the big 16g flows 39-40 lbs/min while the 18g flows 44-45. Is 4-5 lbs/min really worth the hassle?

Only other plan is to wait and convert the 16 to a 20. This will be a DD so turbo lag os a concern buy drom what ive read the conversiin from 16 to 20 helps with spool up as opposed to just buying an mhi 20g

Which route would yall take. Just need opinions from those who have used these turbos and from tgos math wiz's who can tell me if 4-5 lbs/min will even be noticed?

The 18g won't flow 44-45lbs. :toobad: Here's the chart that I've always used as reference.;)

14b = 30 lb/min
16g = 34lb/min
Big 16g = 36lb/min
18g = 40lb/min
EVO III Big 16g = 42lb/min
20g = 44lb/min

You guys know he is talking about the fp 68hta correct? Its rated at 47 lbs/min so its not your typical 18g.

Ya the 68HTA moves quite a bit of air compared to a big 16g. You could easily squeeze 45lbs/min out of it. It really depends on the price and whether or not you think it's worth it.

First off an 18g in not a FP HTA 68. The HTA 68 flows more then an 18 and is similar in flow to a 20g but spools faster. I would double check to see what turbo you have and go from there!

Yea well i've read that its not really an 18g but in size could be compared to one. Though as stated above it does flow much more then a typical 18g.

The guys selling the whole set up for 350. Its up in Wao, its listed in the classifieds on here

And from reading the chart above, I read a differrnt one, the b16g only flows 36 lbs/min. So I guess that is a pretty big difference from the hta68

Says there is about 12-14k on it. Zero shaft play

Hello he didn't get the Turbo from my friend I'm actually getting this turbo from him, this weekend I'm trading him my fp3052 Turbo for his Turbo setup, and tien coilovers I know I'm downgrading but screw is just for now until I get the fpred Turbo.

Or he is getting taken advantage of...sounds too good to be true.

There's always that with used purchases. If the compressor wheel is damaged, I'm sure the billet wheel would be expensive to replace. But if it needs a standard rebuild or even a new turbine with it, that's still a deal.

Oh and on the original post, hell yes you'd feel 5lbs/min, that's 50whp!
