Hey everyone with brakes being so incredibly important for not dying I wanted to ask for feedback before making any moves, I attempted to fill and bleed my new MC but I noticed right away there’s leaks at the fittings we use to correctly connect the 3g MC to the 2G eclipse.

This looks like the fitting maybe isn’t machined right ?
I checked the new MC and it looked perfectly fine inside the fitting mating surface .

It should seal with out using any tape or sealant…..

What recommendations do you have for me in this scenario?

These are the adaptors available online, correct?

We are following this because this project is on the schedule for this summer for our Spyder. We haven’t noticed anyone else mention an adapter leak when doing this swap.

Yes the ones recommend in this thread 🧵

Quick update; the adapter supplier was kind enough to provide me with one adapter.

Since only one port is leaking.
The port for the passenger side is dry even with the adapter.

Unfortunately it was not the adapter, I don’t think since the new one leaks.

I measure 📏 📐 the new and old adapter and they were exact.

I ordered brakes lines so I can make a new line one end bubble and one end inverted to fit the P-valve and MC.

But I recall in the main thread that many members reported never having leaks even when using the original lines without the adapter.

I wanted to test this as well and I’m very surprised to report that there is no leak when using the original line.

Bone dry 🦴

So it’s conceivable that the MC came with one bad port…. But then how is it sealing with the original line ?!?

I won’t have a true conclusion until I can test a new line ( bubble to inverted )
I will update once the lines arrive

If it leaks with the new line then it must be the MC drivers side port
If it doesn’t then……..

I just bolted my stock lines to the 3g MC and haven't had any issues in the 4 years it's been like that
Thanks for providing feedback!!
I know it’s not recommended by many men wiser than us, but it’s hard to neglect the results.

Especially yours, do you daily or periodically drive your car, do you ever use your breaks aggressively?
Thanks again.

The last picture you posted with the fitting tightened all the way down suggests how the fitting works. The seal is at the flare, not the threads.

The two pictures above that are absurd. Threads are beyond dirty and the flare probably isn't bottoming out because of it.

The soft brass fitting you got bit into the MC and created a band-aid seal there.

The adapters are the reason it appears to you, that the line is not tight,
They are tight and seated.

The seal is at the flare, not the threads.
yes I’m aware, I made this known in the original post.

That’s thread tape It slides off easily when I pulled it and the threads inside the adapter are clean.

Also it’s not leaking from above the adapter but below it.

I fail to comprehend what you mean by the brass fitting creates a seal ?

I posted the complete opposite.
Thank you for your input

Spirited weekend driving. Windy back roads and such. No track time. 3g booster and some small Brembo front brakes.

I see it now. That was a garbage post on my behalf after one too many at the pub. Apologies.
